*Tips from publisher and distributor IngramSpark for finding your audience.

*Join Goodreads and look for followers of books like what you want to write.

*Make a list of books comparable to what you want to read and follow the authors on all the social media platforms you are on to see who else follows them.

*Check out book clubs in your area to see if any specialize in the genre you want to write in. If so, join one or more and get to know other readers. A number of online bookclubs exist, but clubs that meet in person offer greater opportunities to meet people.

*Check out local bookstore events. Go to book signings or author readings of genres you like. Talk to others at those events to see if they would be interested in what you’d like to write.

*Join groups on LinkedIn or Facebook related to the subject or genre you are interested in. Check out the posts. Answer questions. Pose your own questions.

*Research professional or social clubs that may attract people interested in your topic or genre.

*Attend or offer to teach a class at a local adult school on a topic you’d like to write about.
